Yanks Sweep Sox, Win A.L. East

The Red Sox wasted a good start by Paul Byrd and ended up dropping the third game in a row to the Yankees. J-Bay scored in the first to and the third to give the Red Sox a 2-0 lead.  Melky Cabrera hit a homer off of Byrd to put the Yanks on the board in the bottom of the third.  The score remained 2-1 until Saito gave up a two out hit with runners on second and third to allow the Yankees to take the lead in the 6th.  Bard also gave up a homer in the 8th to Mark Teixeira.

With the win the Yankees clinched the A.L. East title and are back in the playoffs after not making the post-season last year.  The Rays rallied back to beat the Rangers so the Red Sox magic number dropped to two.
